Common Glass Bead Surface Finishes

AB = Aurora Borealis. Permanent rainbow finish applied to half the bead.

Iris = Coating with a rainbow/metallic appearance.

Luster = Uniform, shiny finish on the surface of a transparent, translucent or opaque bead.

Pearl = Opaque lustered beads

Matte = Velvety and “frosted” surface

Ghost = Bead finished half in Matte and half in AB

Vitrail = One half silver with a rainbow finish over the silver half

Marea = One half gold with a rainbow finish over the gold half

Metallic = Metal like surface coating
